About
I've touched nearly every part of the software lifecycle at some point —
figuring out what a market needs, selling it, designing it, building it,
and supporting it once it's out in the world. That range is useful in a
room: I can usually tell where the real friction is, not just what people
say the problem is, and help a team make the call that actually matters.
Most of that instinct is currently pointed at AI tooling. I build with AI
coding assistants day to day, run my own project and support work through
agentic tools, and I'm the one at my company evaluating new platforms and
helping everyone else actually adopt them. A few of the things that's
produced are below.
Experience
The short version — happy to talk through the rest if you reach out.
IData Incorporated
Nov 2015 — Present
Director of Client Support & Strategic Solutions · Senior Technical Consultant
IData is a small higher-ed software and services firm, and for a decade
I've been the technical throughline there — the primary contact for our
biggest partner integrations (ACI Worldwide, SAP Concur, Hyland,
Technolutions), and the person who takes a good idea from a client
conversation all the way to something shipped. A payment feature I
pushed through end-to-end has since closed deals we wouldn't have
gotten otherwise, and I built our services line from nothing into
something running about ten engagements a year. Lately I've also taken
point on our AI tooling — evaluating platforms, helping the team
actually adopt them, and connecting them to the systems we already run.
Savannah Bookings
2010 — 2015
Founder · Savannah, GA
A reservation and ticketing platform for small tour and attraction
operators, which I designed, built, and ran entirely on my own.
Separate interfaces for the operators, their ticketing
partners, and the customers actually buying tickets, plus a pricing
engine and all the infrastructure underneath. By the time I moved on,
it had signed 12 operators, processed 200,000+ reservations, and done
$5M+ in gross revenue for the businesses running on it.
Carolina Furniture CRM
2002 — Present
Owner, Developer · Williamsburg, VA
A furniture retailer's order and invoicing system I built in 2002 and
have maintained ever since — still in daily use, 60,000+ invoices,
about 20 people touching it every day. I
got pulled back in during 2025 for a search and reporting overhaul, and
I'm currently in the middle of converting the original Perl codebase to
a modern stack with AI coding assistants, live, on a system carrying
two decades of accumulated business logic.
